the mantra and the mind - may2024

“While exercise is used to train our bodies, meditation and mantras can be used to train our minds”

Technically a mantra is a series of words and sounds used in meditation to calm the mind.

Applying this in every day life, research has proven that repeating words does calm the mind, and the words that are said can provide mental stimulation and innate motivation to move you into the mindset required to complete your goals.

Creating a mantra, or power statement, or mental anchor, can be tricky however. It is easy to find any mantra online that floats your boat, however a customised mantra that comes from deep within you is always going to be more powerful.

So, how do you find the mantra for you?
What are you going through in your life that requires calming and rationale but also constant attention in order for you to move through and past it?

What is the core issue that keeps coming up for you around this situation?

What is the opposite statement of this issue?

Is this what you want? How does this feel on you?

How can you adjust this to try different statements?

What language resonates with you in this statement? What words need to be replaced?

You need to play with your mantra, try it on, until you say one that resonates to your inner core.
